Hola, Aloha,
An important note about digital citizenship went home today. Students are asked to read it through with their families and then sign it. We hope to ensure that all of our technology is respectfully used throughout the year.
Here are some parts of the day that your students wanted to share with you:
Phys-ed, always a highlight, - students play a new game today called Boom City with a few different roles, it sounded like so much fun!
We logged into to computers today to try out GET EPIC's online reading activities which will be part of our Literacy Stations going forward.
We played a teamwork game called Shipwrecked where students worked on their communication and collaboration skills to get from one side of the "toxic water' to the other. The first attempt the class was able to complete the task in 15 minutes, the second time they completed it in in 4 minutes and 17 seconds!!! Together as a class, they earned more time to work on Book Making which is by far the favorite activity.
In math, we have been working on our basic facts. We started with addition to ten and now are on subtraction to ten. We also played some card games to practice and review our basic fact skills.
We also continued to work on our LifeMaps with some students moving on the mapping and symbolism part of the task.
See everyone tomorrow!
