 Happy Leap Year!!!

It was a great Thursday.
We did some brainstorming around separation techniques for our chemistry unit and had some really great discussions about how we could separate certain mixtures! One great question was "what about liquids like coke and sprite?" from Joshua. The inclusion of plasma as a state of matter also has many students' brains working over time to think critically about different mixtures and materials to see how they would classify them! We will be getting started with our experiments tomorrow, looking at more traditional separation methods, but still researching and learning about some of the more interesting ways!

We also had a great time in Math learning about division and where it fits in the order of operations. Ask your students about this one!

We did have a practice lockdown. Most students did a great job and were able to sit quietly for the duration of the drill (about 20 minutes). Some students struggled with this and we had a discussion about why it is important to take this practice seriously.

Today during Gym we played a game to show our shooting and stick handling skills they had 2 levels one with a goalie and one without. I liked it! - Em
