It's our first week doing a once a week blog and I took 84 pictures! 

Here we go! This week we created some beautiful zentangle letter art that use negative and positive space. Students were able to work in our new prairie which has a really wonderful calming vibe. 

We also had a blast with floor hockey this week. Students really work hard and give it their all! 

We also started brainstorming for the annual Minecraft challenge where students will be asked to create a structure in minecraft that represents key components of the City's resiliency strategies: 

I was so impressed with the thoughtfulness of their design ideas. They gave the criteria serious consideration and were very intentional about being inclusive and welcoming. 

We also continued our work on algebraic equations, working through the hierarchy of operations and introducing brackets! Students were testing their mathematic reasoning and understanding of operations all week. 

And we had some fabulous expert station presentations! I was really blown away by how practiced and clear the students' presentation skills were: 

We also completed various classroom chemistry experiments. We explored air as a technique to separate solid/solid mixtures. The kids were really into the googles.
