April 29 - May 10

Two weeks pass. Again, I apologize for the delay, however we are moving along and excited to be in the homestretch. Our journey into the final weeks of being a part of Northern Lights School has been eventful to say the least, we've had literacy week, visits from Elder Frank, and science experiments.

Literacy week cumulated to a Thursday night book fair and food truck event where students came by and demonstrated their skills through various activities and games.

As for Elder Frank Turning Robe, we got the opportunity to listen to him tell stories about the importance of why the Siksika value medicines like sweetgrass and sage. He let us touch his headdress and the history of his family including his name, Aapioh'kiitopi or Grey Horse Rider. We were very lucky to spend time with him and are very grateful.

For science, we looked into mixing liquid and discovered why different substances don't mix and why. We made flipgrids (videos) of our findings and submitted them on Google Classroom.

Next week will be a shorten week so be sure to see our next journey up on Thursday!
